Have you posted a report about your Feb 04 trip? Darn "morning" sickness keeps me from being on the board as much as I used to be & I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it. I have wanted to check out Azulik for a while now & have been looking forward to what you thought of it! Thanks!!
afterall, everyone else TRIES to get their report posted within the first month or so. but 2 months is kinda pushing it. don'tcha think?
so--it's time darlin'! it's time.
besides being a travel agent, I am also a tax accountant. April has been hard on me. All of my clients are procrastinators - dumping on me last minute. Most had to file extensions. So, I'm still working on taxes and catching up with travel clients that had to put up with playing second fiddle last week.
Also, we got hit with a big storm Sunday night - yesterday and today dealing with the insurance company - still more to do. We had a huge privacy fence snap off at the posts, lots of shingles gone from the roof, and a wall that actually moved on our shop. We had straight line winds over 70 miles/hr, but at least the tornado that was sighted moving towards us didn't come.
And, if I get a spare moment in the next couple weeks, I'll be researching our France trip, so my February report might be done in June...
valid reasons for delaying writing a trip report. but couldn't you AT LEAST post a few teaser pics?
i am so sorry you had all of that damage! i think we got those winds, as well. however--we got lucky! NO DAMAGE TO REPORT!
Tax accountant? Do you mean you are a CPA? I guess I didn't know you had done all that schooling and certification. That's a lot of work!
I went back to school full time year 'round when I got divorced in 2000. I ran a commercial cleaning business to put myself through school while raising 4 kids. I got my accounting degree in December 2002 (with a 3.8 GPA). I worked my tail off for those couple of years. So, I treated myself to a trip to Mexico with a girlfriend between final exams and graduation night.
I've always been involved in accounting/bookkeeping work and doing complicated taxes - but now I have the degree too. I'm supposed to "be an accountant" now that I've finished school, but I got the offer to join the travel business, and its just too much fun to let it go! So, I'm down to only one commercial cleaning account, the travel business, and doing taxes - I'm not doing any other accounting work than taxes right now. I am one of those "weirdos" that likes working with numbers. I get to play with them a lot for travel working different combos, dates, etc. for possibilities - it is sometimes as much of a challenge as accounting.
I didn't bother to sit for the CPA - I really don't need the certification. Especially with the way the field is changing, I don't care to get a CPA. If I sit for anything it would be the CMA or CFA. If I ever do get more into the accounting field, I'd really like to get my CFE (certified fraud examiner). That area interests me more than others.
ALL OF THAT is behind you now--so you should be able to hop to the trip report thang. right? unless it's too windy up there, still.
i know how that wind tends to hang around MUCH longer than any of us want of expect.
so NOW that it's wind free up there, start postin'!
