We did this for months, would take a break, and then did it for several more months...so here we go...
Where is the very best food you have ever consumed in Cancun or the Riviera Maya?
If we have enough good answers, tomorrow we will have an "adult question". After last week's unexpected thread we might even talk about "adult toys" and your fondest memories in Cancun!!!
Who knows, we might even ask what was the most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you while in Cancun. I have a good anser for that and have never been in an adult toy store!!!
I get to go first, not because I'm the cutest, but because I make the rules for this game!!!
Ummmmm........I forgot the question........
Oh yea, food, well, considering that I don't give a hoot about most food, I'll say that I like the hamburgers at the Royal Solaris poolside grill.
Drinks....that's a different topic...but I'll give you a hint. When in Playa del Carmen you can usually find me in the lobby bar at the Iberostar Lindo!!!
At least I THINK they're good , because after drinking 1 1/2 of those suckers, I can't seem to remember a thing; just ask Akumal Dave. But they sure do go down easily. Now I'm outta here for the next couple weeks. Bye.

Oooooh, that's a tough question!
There's so many restaurants we like, both in Cancun and in Playa.
I don't know if it's the BEST, but we really like BABE'S NOODLE BAR in Playa del Carmen,
and the margaritas are HUGE!
some friends invited us to their house one evening for dinner. he grilled some arachera steaks. they were So good i made a pig out of myself. i think that may also qualify as my most embarassing moment. the stares i got you know.

Bandman...this is a toughie. Following JackS to the Lol Ha in Akumal, although in this case the main restaurant, Grouper en Escabeche. Or at Maison del Marquez in Valladolid the Cochinita Pibil. Or anywhere they sell whole chickens rubbed with achiote and grilled (Pollo Asado). If I have to narrow it down to one, I guess the Grouper en Escabeche is my current favorite.
Speaking of JackS...I'd have to say that the Lol Ha margaritas are pretty good. But who can stop after 1 and a half? Usually I'll have 3 if I plan on going anywhere. Otherwise I definitely stop after floor, er four.

NUMERO UNO: The dearly departed "Papaya Republic" in Puerto Aventuras. Truly wonderful food in a jungle/beach atmosphere.
An up and comer is "Mezzanine", in Tulum's Punta Piedra area (north fork of the road). Pricey, but tasty and unusual (for the area) cuisine.
As far as where we take the most meals, that'd be La Cueva del Pescador, in Akumal. Not only is their fresh seafood the best, but the staff have been friends of ours since the restaurant opened.
Dang! I'm hungy
!
Dave
his gut is about as big as mine in the previous pic.

hmmm, I need a good arrachera recipe, do you suppose he'd share?
good food to be had! But I loved Limones in Playa del Carmen and also liked the atmospheres of both La Plantation and Habichuela in Cancun. On the more casual side, I could never get enough of those tacos al pastor at some little place downtown.... Los Dos Amigos, maybe? I forgot the name, but I'll think of it. I also loved the breakfast buffet at Captains Cove across from the Royals...
Fran in NY
Hard to pick just one and just as hard to remember the names but a few that come to mind:
Lorenzillos (sp?)(loved the creamed spinach and the crepes)
Rosa Mexicana
Tix-n-nix fish on Isla (sp?)
Pizza Leo's in Chemuyil
Gringo Dave's, (Tulum but no longer open)
Karen in OH
