Bandman's question of the day...10/22/06
bandman 10/22/07 16:21

What is your favorite Mexican/Latin song? Who recorded it?

"Amor Verdadero" or "Descarga De Hoy"
bandman 10/22/07 16:32

Amor Verdadero (Tue Love) recorded by the Afro Cuban All Stars or Descarga De Hoy recorded by Cubanismo. The title of the Cubanismo tune means “Unloading Of Today” but I’m sure that there is a less literal translation that would make more sense. In both cases I love the songs for the music itself.

recorded it! I think that over the years a few bands had done a cover of that song because I used to hear it in alot of the restaurants and clubs. It was a crazy dance song with a catchy beat!

Just about anything from Maná Unplugged

It only takes a few measures of any cut from Maná's Unplugged album to put me in a mellow Mexican mood.

isn't it strange

I generally think if hispanic music as high energy. I use it to pep me up. It's very rare that I listen to the mellow sounds from hispanic artists, although many are masters at that style of music. When I can't get going the Cuban sounds come out -- great for yard work, or for anything else that calls for lots of energy!

Unplugged is an awesome album...have you watched the DVD? It's our tradition to have the Unplugged DVD playing when we pack for our Mexico holidays! Really gets us in the mood!

Bandman....If you want something more upbeat, just listen to the latest Maná CD...Amar es combatir

We have it -- enjoy it a lot!

I just really like the upbeat sounds, but don't get me wrong on this, it doesn't take anything away from teh slow sounds of Mexico. They are great as well, just not what I usually listen to at home.
