I love Margarita's, and at times we make them by the batch. Be careful with these, as they will launch a rocket to the moon if you are not careful!
1 small can of limeade (put it into a blender)
Fill the can with Tequila (put it into the blender)
Fill the can with triple sec (put it into the blender)
Top the blender off with ice (it works better if you use crushed ice)
Blend until smooth -- ENJOY!!!
If you want it to be a little less strong, when you put the ice leave a little room at the top and then top it off with cold water. It blends easier, and it is already a little less strong, and it still tastes fantastic!
I’m serious when I say be careful – they are much stronger than they taste.
A historical note is that this stays kind of true to the “Danny Negrete Margarita”, which is supposed to be one of the original recipes. They supposedly mixed even parts of tequila, triple sec and fresh lime juice and served it over crushed ice. No one can really say who invented the margarita, but some recipes have been passed down for many years, and it is from those recipes that we get the general idea of what we expect a margarita to be today!
Have you noticed that the price of Mexican beers are going wayyyyyyyyy up? If I didn't think I would turn into a major alcoholic I would put a keg of Negro Modelo in my house. I'd have a choice of either drinking it or letting it go bad. If I drank an entire keg every 120-days I'd gain sooooooo much weight it would not be a pretty picture.
We have this new little deal in our area of Heineken (sp???) mini-kegs. I wish I could get one of those filled with Negro Modelo!!!
(At least the closest I've come to them)
1/3 cup fresh-squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup Triple Sec
1 cup tequila (Sauza is pretty good for this purpose)
10 ice cubes
Blend for a few seconds, until you don't hear the ice cubes being chopped up.
Serve over ice.
These are the ones that'll put JackS on his back very quickly.
