I can't really believe that I'm actually offering info on the condos that I don't enjoy looking at whilst on Isla, but just trying to help you out!

I have toured that B& B Doris speaks of and met the owner, it's is gorgeous, the pics of his Ixchel condo looks very cool, completely different than the B&B which is full of anitiques and cool architecture.
the condo looks ultra modern and sophisticated, perfect location too!

I had heard about Ixchel a while back but never really saw the pictures. I'm sure the condos are really nice, but I bet the complex as a whole stands out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the buildings. Nautibeach condos always seemed fine because they were only three stories and the trees were so tall that they covered a good part of it and they blended in with the scenery. Amazing how fast Isla is changing....

Now I'm having major trouble finding decent airfares, and by decent, under $1000 for non-stop flights. I have alot of miles but I always like to hoard them in case sometime I don't have money and really need to get away. In this case, I'll probably either wait until April spring break or the summer.... Sigh....

It does look different, and it will be a shock the first time you see it.

Fran, did you check the airfares for Sat. to Friday? That's what we're doing (I'm stuck with the same week off as you) and we save about $300 in airfare by coming back Friday instead of Sat.

We're staying in Playa, right on 1st Ave.

How's your job going???? Are you teaching middle or high school?
