Great report, Dave. I think this is the place one of my wife's co-workers and her husband spent a long weekend at about a month ago. She raved about it. Hope to try it sometime as well.

I love how they have the Christmas trees in each of the cabins so you felt right at home.

Great pictures... My sis and her husband went to Montana last summer and loved it so much that this year they are going to Wyoming for more horseback riding and rafting. It's funny, because for many years they used to spend their long vacations at the beach until they took up skiing and a few trips to Aspen and Vail. Now they are hooked on the midwest!

It is to me! I only consider Washington, Oregon and California the 'west.' Everything else 'between' the ocean states on each coast is in the middle!!! Except for Florida--even though that is on the east coast, it's hard for me to think of it as really 'east.' That and a few other states are purely 'southern' no matter what coast they are on. But Vermont is east-- even though it is not really an ocean state. (You don't think my geographical views are politically influenced, do you???) )

Glad you enjoyed your trip to Big Cedar Lodge. I live in Springfield and my husband and I go there several times a year for weekend getaways. I have never been there in the wintertime, we always go in the summer and take our ski boat with us, we have a great time on the lake, and then get to go back to the beautiful lodge. We love walking the lighted pathways on warm summer nights. Come back in the summer, you will love it!
