Please allow me to tell you about a special friend. I can't give his name, but this guy is an intensive care nurse at one of our local hospitals where he cares for sick babies. For the past 10-years he has been making appearances as Santa, allowing people to pay him what they want to pay him (there is no set fee) and then he GIVES ALL OF THE MONEY TO ST. JUDE'S CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. He has raised thousands and thousands of dollars for St. Jude's, and never even keeps any money to pay his expenses for the upkeep of his costumes.
His wonderful wife sets up all his rounds and she arranges with the hospital where he works for time off so he can continue his "Santa Ministry". Last year he made his first appearance at my school as our very own Kneeling Santa at our living Nativity.
Last year he had a heart attack right after Christmas. He had only two concerns: "What if this had happened during his rounds when he was with the children?” and "Would it keep him from his rounds the following Christmas?" I really love this guy - he’s the "real deal" -- the closest thing to St. Nicholas I have ever known.
He is such a wonderful person that I wanted to share him with you. People like him are what make Christmas... and life ... so very special. By the way -- other than the suit there is no makeup -- that is what he really looks like in real life! Kind of makes you wonder!!?!?!?!?! Hmmmmmmmmm! The North Pole might have gotten a bit to cold and he moved south!
He does look like a real Santa! (Or THE real Santa...)
I hope he takes care of himself and stays well! Those pictures you posted are really nice! Heather is getting big--boy how time flies!

He is surely an angel and a real joy for those lucky babies in his care.
Is he able to make his rounds as Santa this year?
