Going a bit farther than Mexico this time. Flying into Barcelona for 3 nights, on to Bilbao and the Guggenheim Museum for a couple of nights, Salamanca for a night, to break up the long drive to Lisbon, Albufeira for a night or two, on to Seville for a couple, Granada and the Alhambra for a couple, Madrid for 3, then home. I've included a couple extra days, in case something interesting comes along, for a total of 19 nights April/May. I've driven all over Mexico, now I get to add Spain and Portugal to my resumé.
I was in Spain twice, but just for short visits and really didn't see much outside of Madrid. However, one thing I did enjoy was going out to Toledo. I think we visited El Greco's house, and they also took us to the spot where he stood when he painted 'A View of Toledo.' If you go there, look at it closely, then look at the picture and tell me what's different outside of the fact that it is probably more developed now!
Have never been to Portugal but a man who lives on Isla goes there for months at a time--absolutely loves it!!! I hope you take lots of pictures for us. Maybe you should take Cat--that way we'll be sure we see plenty of pictures!!!!!

OK, I'll be the advance man for you, getting everything arranged for the Main Event, whenever they can get themselves dug out from all that cold, white stuff. Happy Daze to you and Colette, too. Thanks for the kind words about Uxmal, too; it was a pleasure. Now if only we could get Tim over on that side sometime. But just as he's given up on getting trip reports from me, I've about given up on ever getting him away from the 'Cun side.
