Day 2

Day 2
I wake to the sound of the waves crashing… I love it here!
I don’t hear waves like this on Saylorville lake.

Perry & I decide to take a walk down to Playa Norte and enjoy the morning tranquility of the beach. We let the rest of the family sleep, we leave them a note and a walkie talkie, in case they need us. Perry has already been out for several hours this morning working on the map.
It is very hot already, so a swim feels wonderful, what a great way to start the day.

We get back and they are already up…and hungry, the problem is…Alec won’t get out of the pool! Perry & I head out to find some breakfast to bring back…we walk around town for awhile checking out menus but end up at the market. At the cocina at the very end we see a nice older lady sitting and waving her menu at us…so we choose her!  We order up plenty of tocino, scrambled huevos and juice for the family. They seem to be a bit confused by the amount we are ordering and then we tell them it is “ para llevar” to go. They pack it all up real good and throw in some of those tasty tortillas and a couple of bags of the best orange juice in the world! The kids always get a kick out of their juice in a plastic bag with a straw.
This all came to about $4.00 US and there was a lot of food.
While we’re waiting, the walkie talkie calls us, it’s Mallory, she and Jeannine have a golf cart and do we want a lift home? Sure! We tell them our location and soon after our charriot arrives!  Thanks girls! It pays to know people in this town 

As we’re enjoying our breakfast, Jeannine shows up with Capt. Tony, this is great, I wanted to go snorkeling! So we arranged to go snorkeling in a few hours…cool!! We didn’t even have to go looking for him…I like this! Turns out Tony and Perry have ALOT in common

They both love to take pictures!

Perry & I decide we won’t take the crew, we’ll let them hang at the pool and enjoy themselves. Jeannine asks if it’s O.K. if Mallory comes along..sure, she’s a very nice girl and the more the merrier!  Mallory’s never been snorkeling off a boat before so this is a new experience, she’s a little nervous, but she does great and ends up loving it. And can’t wait to come back tomorrow with her camera.
The first reef by the lighthouse is very good snorkeling. I was surprised, I thought there were too many people at first but we saw lots of angel fish, barracuda, parrot fish, and others I don’t know the name of.

Tony took us out to Manchones (sp?) reef, there were a lot of divers from Aqua World in Cancun there. Not many fish for snorkelers that day, but a beautiful reef. We found the cross, did a little snorkeling and then on our way again. Tony was taking us all the way around the island.
We stopped just before we went around the point and the water was the most beautiful I think I have ever seen. Tony wanted Mallory to get in so he could take her picture…I couldn’t resist and jumped in too. Did I mention it was too much for Tony to resist also?

As we were climbing back in to the boat Tony points into the water and says somethng about a school of BIG barracuda .What?! Mallory & I get back in the boat rapido! And of course Perry grabs his snorkel and jumps in! Tony wishes he had his fishing equipment 
On around the point, it is so pretty I can’t put it into words.

We head up the east side, as we pass the Rocamar, the kids and Jeannine come to the wall and wave at us as we pass.
Up around Playa Norte and home again.

This was an awesome day, be sure to find Capt. Tony and have him take you snorkeling, he only charges $10 per person ! He lives on Av. Matamoris on Isla You’ll see his sign outside his house.

Keri & Kelsey would love that first snorkeling spot, so we arrange to go again tomorrow and take the kids….well…maybe not Alec, he says he will absolutely not get on that boat! Hmmmm..we’ll see about that.

Tonight we dine at Rolandi’s, it was very good as always. Kelsey had a steak, Keri, Hawaiian pizza, me, lasagne and Alec and Perry shared the 3 cheese macaroni, top it off with a few pina coladas and that awesome bread and I may never eat again! Everything was wonderful and we were stuffed! I really wanted some of that coconut and kalua ice cream…next time I’ll do dessert first!
We needed that after last night. I didn’t take notes, so I don’t remember how much this cost, but it was worth every penny.
Back to the pool to hang out with our old and new friends.
We talked about our day with Tony and added one more passenger to our boat, (remember, the French/Texan guy?) He & Keri decided to officially have a date tonight, O.K., she says it’s not a date, they’re just friends..yadda,yadda,yadda, just go have fun Keri I think they did.
Snorkeling again with Capt. Tony tomorrow!

Awesome!

The snorkelling sounds fantastic! Some really great pictures again Laura!

I'll just have to drag Vince to Isla next time we are lucky enough to get down that way!

Waiting for more!
