Hotel is under new management. Much improved over the last few months.
The hotel was nice and simple. Nightly entertainment and activities crew. Mainly a divers paradise with small reefs right off the beach. Mostly american with most of the staff speaking good english. The food was above average for Mexico, more suited for american taste buds. Sweetest desserts of any I've had in Mexico. The worst thing about the hotel was the taxi ride needed everytime you wish to head to town. The tab water is not purified at all, but purfied water was avaliable at bars and buffet. We were marked as time share prospects on our arrivial. We could even turn in our towels without being hounded. Others were not even asked. After so very forceful no thank yous they back off some. Somehow whe were marked before they even picked up our bags. Only our room wasn't ready, everbody elses was. The when I asked if our room was ready after they spoke with us they said yes before they even checked. Big scam they call "Vacation Club"
Funjet rates the hotel about a 5 star. It was maybe a 5 for Cozumel but I think more like a 3 for the Cancun/Playa /Cozumel area. More Motel 6 ish than resort.
Overall, I was very pleased. 99% of the employees were excellent and very helpfull. They reopened the snack bar grill for me twice during my 8 day stay and I was all-inclusive. The stuff cleaned, repaired,and repainted all day to improve the place. The club is great for divers, families, water lovers and couples butI would not recommend for the serious party person
