Today was a very fun day! We woke up late (always a treat) and we went to breakfast dressed to go downtown. After a great breakfast we spent 20 pesos for the three of us to experience Cancun’s cheapest thrill ride and soon the bus had us at La Isla Shopping center.

Heather bought at really nice swimsuit cover-up at the quick silver shop and I tried on a fun shirt at the del Sol shop (it didn’t fit well) and then we were back on the bus back to the Hard Rock at the Forum Mall.

We chose to eat lunch off campus at the Hard Rock. $33 for Tupelo Chicken and soft drinks reminded me why an All-inclusive resort is a pretty good bargain.

We walked from there down to the Deli Mart. We loved the chatter’s meetings that we had there with Tim, Kent, Mom, Rich, Michelle, Cigman, and so many others who started out friendship out there. To our regret the Deli-mart is closed. We were so upset, but I had a seat on the old bench and took a minute to remember all the great times we had there.

Soon we were back on the bus and then back at the hotel. We spent the afternoon in the pool. A volleyball game followed by watching a wedding at the cabana made for a nice afternoon. The picture below is Heather modeling her new cover-up. Actually she got mad at me for taking this picture, but I thought she was adorable!

This resort is really growing on me. Even the pool is sparkling clean now (a complaint I always had at the Royal Solaris). I could recommend this to almost anyone, young people, older folk, honeymooners, and people with kids. The only people I would not suggest this to would be young singles who want the huge party scene. They have a 2-hours party here, but not the kind of party that would appeal to the college crowd during spring break.

When we got back up to the room we dressed for the tropical show and decided to take advantage of the view as a background and take a couple of family pictures. Here they are for anyone who would like to see them.

The tropical show was put on by the same people who put on the International show at the beginning of the week. Tonight they were just as good as they were for the other show. Something that was interesting was that the dancer who was the one weak member of the other show, was certainly the star tonight. This type of dance must be his forte and he stole the stage from the others several times during the show.

The Caribbean buffet was very good. Everything around here tends to lean toward the Italian side, to I guess tonight we had Caribbean-Italian. I don't care what they call it because it was pretty good and that is all that matters!

After the show I went down and bought Joni a little gift at the traveling Mexican craft show. It is the same people that show up at all the different hotels with a glass blower/sculptor, finger painter, the spray paint guy, and some other craftsman. I always go to see what they have, thinking that I'll never buy anything, but I always leave with something.

Off to bed early tonight. This was a fun day, but we have chosen to shut it down early as a family hoping that tomorrow will be as much fun as today.
