Cancun & Chichen map updates
By:Laura Mapchick

Tim told me to post this on his boards :)

Update on the status of the Cancun & Chichen Itza maps.

We recently completed a total redesign of the Cancun map that took us
entirely too long to complete.
Cancun is constantly growing, and we are constantly working to bring
you more information and an overall better product.
First, we'd like to share some information about the new Cancun map,
then we'll explain our printing timeline.

The new Cancun map has four parts:
1. A giant map that measures 27" x 39".
On side one of this map we show hotels and rental properties. Plus,
we now show the new Puerto Cancun development in downtown,
and the many new high-rise condominiums being built in Cancun.
On the other side we show Cancun attractions. We've added more
information than ever, and now also include fishing and diving.
Note: The old maps stopped at Puerto Juarez north of Cancun. This
new map shows hotels, restaurants, and attractions to the end
of the road past Puerto Juarez in an area known as Isla Blanca.

2. A medium-sized map that measures 19.5" x 27".
This map shows all restaurants with all of our favorites in various
price ranges. We've found a few treasures that we are excited to
share with you when this map is printed.
The other side of this map is a detailed map of the downtown area.

3. A transportation map that shows bus routes and taxi fares.

4. An airport map that includes the new terminal #3.

Our printing timeline:
This has been a difficult dilemma that Perry and I (Laura) have been
discussing (OK, arguing about) for weeks.
I want to print now, because all you great map customers have been
waiting so patiently.
Perry wants to wait until after low-season because there are so many
changes in late summer as businesses close and new ones open
(it sounds like he plans to update his latest update). Of course, he
also brings up the possibility of a hurricane during our little
discussions.

So, I'm going to let Perry win this one. We are going to send the
Cancun map to the printer on October 1, along with the new "Mayan
Adventure" map that goes inland to Chichen Itza, Valladolid, Coba,
and visits attractions along the way. Preview not available at this time.

This decision will guarantee that we provide the most accurate
product possible during the high season.

We apologize to those who's travel plans are affected by this
decision. We have been adding an update sheet to the existing Cancun
map, and as part of our compromise on the printing timeline, Perry
has offered to answer any update questions you might have.
You can e-mail him perry@cancunmap.com

Thanks for all of your support through the years.

P.S. watch for the entirely new website, hotel locator, and a giant
surprise coming this fall.
